A great afternoon’s entertainment was had in Breaffy G.A.A. sports hall on Saturday 3rd of January. Scór na nÓg competitions brought out young people under 17 years of age to engage in Ireland’s traditional pastimes and to compete for the impressive trophies on offer.

Claremorris G.A.A. won the Figure Dancing, while Louise Gavin took the trophy for Solo Singing on behalf of Castlebar Mitchells. Louisburg G.A.A. had a good day because they won the trophies for Instrumental Music and for the Ballad Group. Clodagh Hegarty performed an entertaining poem called “The night the telly broke” to bring the trophy for Recitation home to Parke G.A.A. club. An enjoyable display of dancing earned the Aughamore club the trophy for Set Dancing. These competitors now go forward to Connaught Scór na nÓg which will be held in Claremorris Town Hall on Saturday 17th of January at 3pm. It would be well worth popping over to Claremorris to enjoy the entertainment provided by these young people.
